WPA Prints Exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts

Last Sunday was a sunny and warm 41F in Detroit, so I made my way downtown with my friends Jeff and Gwenn for lunch at the Bronx Bar on (great burgers, brunch and build your own Bloody Mary bar - 2nd Ave. between Canfield/Prentis) and then to the Detroit Institute of Arts for a fantastic exhibit of WPA Prints:

No photos were allowed, but here's one of my favorites:

The exhibit runs through March 21st, so still plenty of time to check it out!

Reproduction Stifel Fabric

Want a nice Stifel fabric shirt, but Japanese repros are too small? Have a reliable tailor, but no fabric? I have the answer! Reproductionfabrics.com has a nice, albeit pricey, selection of vintage fabrics:

Indigo - 20th Century Reproductions

I'm going work on getting my tailor to make a shirt similar to this one (probably without detachable collar):

King of Vintage

Anyone who's anyone in the world of vintage knows Larry McKeon of Heller's Cafe. Author the MyFreedamn series Rin Tanaka has come out with a fantastic (should I say forthcoming?) book called the "King of Vintage No. 1 - Hellers Cafe". Still not available on Rin's website, you can get a nice preview (www.myfreedamn.com):

Cat's Paw Sign

Ever regret not getting something? This sign has been nagging me since I missed picking it up at a flea market last year. Hope it's there in the spring after the thaw!!!
