The Guardian Building Detroit

Standing as one of the world's finest examples of Art Deco, Detroit's Guardian Building is a mecca for fans from all over the world. The Guardian was commissioned and built in 1928 - 1929 by the Union Trust Company and designed the by the firm of Smith, Hinchman & Grylls. It's one of my favorite places to take visiting friends. Here's some photos from a recent visit:

Diego Rivera Detroit Industry Mural - DIA

One of the most amazing features at the Detroit Institute of Art's is this mural depicting Detroit's auto. industry by Diego Rivera. It was completed in 11 months between April 1932 and March 1933. Commissioned by Edsel Ford (son of Henry Ford), it portrayed workers of different races working together along with some other touchy subject matter. Rivera even snuck himself into the paintings (hint...he's wearing a bowler).

1940's Wool & Leather Work Jacket

This one ended recently for just under $700 on eBay. Described as a "motorcycle" jacket, I think it would fall more into the category of work or sporting jacket. Nice look and interesting details.
