Heller's Cafe X Warehouse X J Crew

J Crew has recently been stocking several items from the Warehouse Heller's Cafe collection. Priced to kill, they are also pretty amazing looking too. I had the chance to check out some of these goods at Inspiration earlier this year and I was duly impressed.

J. Edgar Hoover Film - Clint Eastwood Biopic

Clint Eastwood is back at with a new biopic about famed FBI head J. Edgar Hoover. Oddly it stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Hoover...wonder how much of his sorted and infamous past will be revealed in this film? We'll likely have to wait until 2012 as production is still under way on the film. Here's a few still shots of Leo as Hoover:

1940's Vintage Sweatshirt

This is the stuff that RRL dreams of recreating, but only time can produce. It was up on eBay and for life me I can't find the closed auction. I think it ended in the $250 - $350 range if my memory serves me correctly. The double V and flocked lettering make this one especially nice in my opinion. In case you were wondering (I did at one point) the stitched V is put into the sweatshirt so it can be cut or notched out. An old timer told me they did this and I'm sure he new!

Soap Box Derby T-Shirts

Tracked a few of these on eBay for a while and they did fairly well for being child size. Also thought they were interesting enough to share here on Rivet Head. I love the simple graphics and patriotic styling. So, here's the shirts and some pics of a few in action to boot!

1930's Penn State Chore Coat x Little Reata

This incredible change button chore jacket was posted the other day on the Little Reata blog. The owner Masa is a purveyor of some of the most incredible men's vintage clothing I've ever seen. Be sure to check out his blog and feast your eyes! BTW, in case you didn't already know, the name of his store is taken from the movie Giant (it's what James Dean's names his ranch in the film).

The Petrified Forest (1936)

The Petrified Forest is billed starring Leslie Howard & Bette Davis, but it's duly noted as Humphrey Bogart's theatrical coming out party (previously playing only minor parts). It's a golden age classic drama and surely tops the lists of many gangster picture favorite lists. Lot's of suspense in this one!
